I am very concerned as a community we are missing a great opportunity to increase ridership and lower wear and tear on our highways. The number one issue on ridership is the amount of time it takes to get anywhere on the bus. Who can afford to waste an hour getting to work, especially when you need to swing by daycare or school and drop off children. We need to take a lesson from more organized communities and assign busses to run direct routes between park and rides or central drop offs in East Green Bay, West Green Bay, Ashwaubenon and Bellevue. Make the 41-43-172 loop, service Howard and service major employers over a certain number of employees. We need a progressive commission with the vision and planning to take us to the next level where other communities look to us for leadership.

As I read the blog postings, I have noticed several items that I would like to bring up.

First, I think the proposed 3 & 4 routes would be easier to understand if the entire loop in one direction was designated as the 3 and the entire loop the other way as the 4. That way, the same bus is on one route (not suddenly switching to another) and riders would better understand which bus they're using.

Second, the map of the proposed 12 contradicts its post as to which bridge it takes inbound. The post denies a change in Green Bay, but the map changes the bridge used inbound from Mason to Dousman/Main.

Finally, I noticed that there are still 3 routes (the 15, 11 & 9) whose changes have not been posted as of this comment. I hope they appear soon. Furthermore, this last point is very personal to me. I live just off the 15 route and use that bus quite a bit since I can't drive. I am extremely worried about the fate of that route after hearing rumors that it might get the ax. It has kept me up late at night trying to find out what will happen. Ridership numbers just don't tell the entire story about who really needs the transit system to be able to work or shop or go to school.

Green Bay Metro has been wonderful to me as a loyal customer for several years, and I would like to thank them for that. But now I need their reassurance that everything will be all right. I just hope the transit executives will listen to what I have just written. It would be of great help to me to get some peace of mind knowing that Metro is there when and where I need them.

My son is handicapped and his only trasportation has been the bus, He uses the bus to get to work and he uses it to have some personal time away from the house. And now you are taking away from him. These days more and more people are using the Bus for transportation and you are cutting their independance by pulling any convenience that they might have. What do you suppose you do for the unfortunate who do not have the convenience of a car.I thought that was why the Green Bay Trasit system was is service,to be there for the residence of Green Bay. I don't understand what this is to accomplish in conveinience to the Green Bay population. I am very unhappy about your new proposed routes.

This new proposal for totally cancelling Route 15 is terrible. I am the father of a special needs child who requires this bus route #15 to remain as is. It is the only way she has to get to and from work on her own. It may not seem like it to others but just getting to work independently is a wonderful thing for a special needs person. It adds to self esteem and independence which is the main goal for all of us.
Seems to me that the new proposal totally ignores our East side/Allouez side of town. At the recent hearing it was said by the city that the new route is to service Wal-Mart in West DePere. Are you kidding me? This route is to service the PEOPLE-if Wal-Mart wants a bus they should pay for it. The way this whole thing has been handled is an injustice to those who need and use the bus.
Why hurt those who need the bus? And then to blame the village of Allouez for not paying more as a reason for cancelling the route is a poor excuse for the cancellation of this route.
What are the users of this route to do? This is wrong and should not be allowed.
