Route 12: Green Bay/Ashwaubenon

The Green Bay portion of this route is unchanged. However, the route changes once it reaches Target at the corner of Ridge Road and Cormier.

The Cormier - Shady Lane - Carole Lane loop of the existing Route 12 has been eliminated. The reason for the elimination is due to low ridership and on-time performance issues.

On the proposed route, once the bus reaches Target it will head east on Cormier to Oneida Street. The route will then head south on Oneida Street servicing the retail section of Ashwaubenon. Upon reaching Hansen Road, the route will head west. The route will terminate at the Viking Drive area, turn around and become the inbound bus. The inbound route will follow the same route as the outbound and return downtown.

This route is currently one hour long and will remain the so in this proposal.

The post says little ridership on the Shay Lane, Carole loop. I ride regularly, and see as many people get on from this loop, as on any other part of the loop. Some consideration needs to be given for the Cormier, Babcock, and Carole lane areas. Perhaps Route 9 could swing south coming back from Lombardi school, and Route 16 could loop through Babcock, somehow on the way back from the Casino. Any plans for the #16 to actually drop off at Austin-Straubel airport?

I have been picking up the bus at Pioneer and Carole Lane in the morning. There are regular riders who get off at Ridge Road and at the Ramada stop. I take the bus all the way into the station. In the evening there are regular riders who get off at Babcock before my stop at Pioneer and Carole Lane. If you are considering eliminating the Shady Lane area at least consider going farther up Carole Lane for the turn around.
